parrot vs pirahna Pirahna are not as blood thirsty as legend would lead us to believe. In the summer when the water is high, natives swim with the fish. The pirahna become dangerous when stranded in the dry season after eating all available prey, and they do have razor sharp teeth. Some pirahna are even vegetarians. On the other hand there are many reptiles, fish, birds, and humans who feed on the pirahna !
